Get Elevated -(Advent Series) Week 1: Hope – The Promise of His Coming (12/1/2024)

Scripture:
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” – Isaiah 7:14 (NIV)

Advent begins with a message of hope. In the midst of darkness and uncertainty, God’s promise of a Savior shines through. The people of Israel had been waiting for generations for the promised Messiah, who would redeem them from oppression and bring peace to their world. Though they faced exile and hardship, they held fast to God’s promise of deliverance.

As we begin this Advent season, we too are reminded that hope is not based on our circumstances but on God’s faithfulness to fulfill His promises. Christ’s first coming was the fulfillment of God’s promise to send a Savior, and His second coming will fulfill the promise that He will make all things new.

Reflection:
What are you waiting for this Advent season? How does the hope of Christ’s coming encourage you in your current circumstances? Take a moment to reflect on the ways God has fulfilled His promises in your life.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the hope we have in Christ. As we wait in anticipation for Your coming, help us to trust in Your promises. May our hearts be filled with the hope that comes from knowing You are faithful. Amen.

Scripture: “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

So much we can definitely be thankful for! God, our Provider, gives us everything we need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We may not always have what we want, but we can be confident that God supplies us with what we need. Take a moment today to reflect on how God has provided for you, whether through family, friends, a job, or daily sustenance.

Prayer:
Lord, I thank You for Your faithful provision. Even when I am unsure or anxious about my circumstances, You are always there, meeting my needs. Help me trust in Your timing and provision. Amen.

Application:
Write down three ways God has provided for you recently. Thank Him for each one!
