I grew up in Texas working on the farm most of my life. My parents always took us to Colorado on vacation to camp, fish, backpack, jeep, etc. I really don’t remember a time in my life when I did not spend time in the backcountry. I really have a specific interest in climbing high altitude peaks. I have climbed about 15 of the 14ers thus far. I have climbed one in the winter and one in the middle of the night(to see the sunrise from the top). Four years ago I went through the guide training program in order to be able to show people Jesus through a backcountry experience. I love taking people on the trail. I love the bonds that can be formed on the trail and I love to see how people can be transformed through Jesus and the backcountry. “for God gave us not a spirit of fear but of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7
I grew up in the panhandle of Texas. I always loved the outdoors, and I spent much time outside riding my horse. When Josh and I got married in 2002, I had never been backpacking. He took me on my first trip to the Sangre de Christos, and I fell in love with the outdoors in a new way. I learned quickly about the beauty of the wilderness. God has been drawing me to the outdoors for my whole life. When an opportunity arose to learn how to use the wilderness as a ministry, I jumped right in. Unplugging from city life and getting out into nature is deeply healing for the soul. God always shows up. I am trained in counseling and wilderness and first aid/CPR certified. I hope you will join us!
