Get Elevated – The Love of God

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16
Reflection:
The story of Christmas begins with love. God’s love for the world was so deep, so vast, that He gave His only Son to bridge the gap between us and Him. This love isn’t earned—it’s a gift, poured out through Jesus Christ. As we approach Christmas, take a moment to dwell on this profound truth. The Creator of the universe loved you so much that He entered into our broken world to redeem you. How can the reality of God’s love transform your perspective today?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for Your boundless love. Help me to live in the joy of knowing I am deeply loved by You. Amen.

Get Elevated – The Source of True Joy

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture: “You make known to me the path of life; in Your presence there is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” – Psalm 16:11
Reflection:
Joy is more than a fleeting emotion; it is a deep and abiding state of being that comes from God. In His presence, we find joy that satisfies the deepest longings of our hearts. This joy doesn’t depend on our circumstances or achievements but is rooted in the assurance of God’s love and His promises. During Advent, we are reminded to draw near to God, for it is in Him that our hearts find rest and fulfillment.

In a season often filled with busyness and distractions, it’s easy to seek joy in temporary things. But true joy comes from abiding in God’s presence. Spend time today meditating on His goodness and allowing His love to fill your heart. How can you make space in your life to experience the fullness of joy that only He can provide?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the source of my joy. Help me to seek You above all else and find true fulfillment in Your presence. Amen.

Get Elevated – Peace in God’s Timing

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV)

Reflection:
God’s timing is perfect. In the hustle of Advent, we can often feel rushed, as if we are running out of time to prepare for Christmas. Yet, God invites us to find peace in His timing. Just as the birth of Jesus came at the right time in history, so too, God’s plans unfold at the perfect time in our lives. We don’t need to rush or force things to happen—God is in control.

Take a deep breath today, trusting that God’s timing will bring about peace in every area of your life. Whether you are waiting for answers to prayer, seeking resolution in relationships, or longing for peace in a difficult situation, remember that God works all things for good in His perfect timing.

Prayer:
God, help us to trust in Your timing and find peace in the waiting. Teach us to rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for our good. Amen.

Get Elevated – The Call to Be Peacemakers

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
— Matthew 5:9 (NIV)

Reflection:
As we reflect on the peace Jesus brings, we are called to be peacemakers in the world. The Beatitudes remind us that those who work to bring peace are blessed and reflect the heart of God. Peacemaking is an active choice; it involves seeking reconciliation, offering forgiveness, and striving to create harmony where there is division.

During Advent, as we prepare for the arrival of the Prince of Peace, we can ask ourselves how we can be agents of peace in our homes, communities, and workplaces. Whether through small acts of kindness, forgiveness, or speaking words of encouragement, we can reflect the peace of Christ to those around us.

Prayer:
Prince of Peace, thank You for showing us what true peace looks like. Help us to be peacemakers in our world, bringing Your love and reconciliation to everyone we encounter. Amen.

Get Elevated – The Peace that Comes Through Trust

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
— Isaiah 26:3 (NIV)

Reflection:
Trust is the foundation of peace. When we trust God with our lives, our circumstances, and our future, we can experience the peace that surpasses understanding. This peace does not depend on the external situations but on an internal assurance that God is in control.

During this Advent season, we are reminded that we can place our trust in the One who promises to keep us in perfect peace. Even in the face of uncertainty or difficulty, trusting in God’s love and faithfulness can bring calm to our hearts. As we prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth, let us take time to reflect on areas where we need to trust God more deeply and experience the peace that comes from that trust.

Prayer:
Lord, help us to trust You more fully. In moments of worry or doubt, may Your peace guard our hearts and minds. Thank You for the assurance that You are always with us. Amen.

Get Elevated – The Promise of Peace

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
— Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

Reflection:
As we begin the journey through Advent, we’re reminded that the promise of peace was spoken centuries before Jesus’ birth. The prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of a Messiah who would bring peace—not just a temporary or superficial peace, but lasting peace, the peace of God Himself. In this season, we celebrate the arrival of the “Prince of Peace.” His birth marks the fulfillment of a long-awaited promise, offering us peace in every aspect of our lives—peace with God, peace within ourselves, and peace with others.

As we prepare our hearts for the celebration of Christ’s birth, let us focus on the peace He offers and reflect on what it means for us today. The peace Jesus brings is not the absence of trouble but the presence of God in the midst of it. This Advent, allow yourself to receive His peace and let it transform the areas of your life that feel restless or troubled.

Prayer:
Prince of Peace, thank You for coming into our world to bring peace. Help us to receive Your peace and share it with others. May Your peace reign in our hearts as we prepare for Your arrival. Amen.

Get Elevated – The Peace of Reconciliation

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
— Colossians 1:19-20 (NIV)

Reflection:
One of the greatest gifts of Advent is the reminder that Jesus came to reconcile us to God. The birth of Christ is the beginning of God’s great work of peace and reconciliation. Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, we are offered peace with God—peace that restores what was broken by sin.

This peace is not just for us to keep for ourselves, but for us to share with others. Jesus calls us to be peacemakers, to work toward reconciliation in our relationships. As we reflect on God’s peace, we can ask ourselves: where in my life do I need to seek reconciliation? How can I be a conduit of peace to those around me?

Prayer:
God of peace, thank You for reconciling us to Yourself through Jesus. Help us to extend that peace to others, working toward healing and restoration in our relationships. Amen.

Get Elevated – Peace in the Midst of Chaos

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
— John 16:33 (NIV)

Reflection:
Life often feels chaotic—especially during Advent, when we rush to prepare for the holidays, juggle commitments, and perhaps face personal struggles. But in the midst of the hustle and bustle, Jesus offers us peace. Not peace that removes all difficulties, but peace that sustains us through them. His words, “I have overcome the world,” remind us that the challenges of life have already been defeated through His sacrifice.

In this season of waiting, we are called to remember that even though the world around us may be chaotic, we can still find peace in Christ. His peace transcends our circumstances, and it is this peace that allows us to stand firm in faith, knowing that God is in control.

Prayer:
Jesus, when the world feels overwhelming, remind us of Your victory and the peace You offer. Help us to rest in Your presence, trusting that You are with us through every challenge. Amen.

Get Elevated – Week 2: Peace – The Prince of Peace (12/8/24)

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)

Jesus came to bring peace, not just between nations, but between God and humanity. His birth in a humble manger signaled the beginning of God’s plan to reconcile the world to Himself. The angels declared, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests” (Luke 2:14). Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and He offers a peace that transcends our understanding, a peace that is rooted in His presence.

In this Advent season, we are reminded that peace comes not from the absence of conflict, but from the presence of Christ. When we receive Him, He brings peace to our hearts, even in the midst of life’s storms.

Reflection:
Is there an area in your life where you need the peace of Christ? Perhaps there are relationships, struggles, or anxieties that are weighing on you. Invite Jesus, the Prince of Peace, to bring His peace into those areas.

Prayer:
Prince of Peace, thank You for coming to bring peace to a broken world. We long for Your peace in our hearts and in our relationships. Help us to experience Your peace in a deeper way this season. Amen.

Get Elevated – Hope in the Waiting – Waiting with Expectancy (12/6/24)

By | Get Elevated Devotions | No Comments

Scripture:
“I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.” – Psalm 130:5 (NIV)

Waiting is often the hardest part of hope. We know the promises, but the fulfillment of those promises seems to take longer than we’d like. This is true both for Christ’s first coming and for His second coming. The people of Israel waited for generations for the Messiah to arrive. And we, as believers, continue to wait for His return. But in this waiting, we are not left without hope. Our hope is in the Lord, and we can trust that He is faithful to fulfill every promise in His perfect timing.

As we wait, we do so with expectancy—knowing that Christ is coming, and when He does, He will bring fullness and joy that will exceed our expectations.

Reflection:
What areas of your life require patient waiting? How can you cultivate a heart of expectancy while you wait for the fulfillment of God’s promises?

Prayer:
Lord, as I wait for Your promises to be fully realized, help me to wait with a heart of expectancy. I trust in Your timing and Your faithfulness. Fill me with hope as I look forward to the fulfillment of all Your promises. Amen.
